FocusWriter looks like a neat idea Allan, I might try it out. Linux has
a lot of neat forensics/diagnostic software and awesome utilities and
servers of course, Zorin looks like a nice desktop Neil.
I'm trying not to think much about my new/used laptop dying, I won't be
able to replace for quite a while.. Meh, I've been afraid to diagnose it
for over a week, denial perhaps. Maybe ranting will help. :) I am a fan
of productivity and acceleration features, the whole new look and
interface Microsoft is taking with Office and Windows is very
irritating. I like to categorize my software menu into six main
categories with shortcuts and scripts within two to four keypresses
away. Having to play with the mouse for anything other than web surfing
(scrolling is awesome) or selections gets annoying quickly. Navigating
4500pixels to click on silly ribbons is not my idea of fun, so I keep XP
on everything that doesn't need 7 and run linux on everything that
doesn't need windows. 7 is ok, it would be good if more classic
customization features were kept, and VirtualPC wasn't required for some
older software.
