things in terms of appearance - the 'eye' picture is one I don't
like. This and a bit more can be changed in the 'mod menu'. I'm
useless at that kind of thing but would welcome something warmer and
less suggestive of sight, I wonder how accessible we are in
disability terms?
The only rule I really accept is hospitality and ancillary exclusions
like spam - currently possible spam goes to the moderation box and I
wonder if we should set suspect stuff to automatic deletion?
The written rules are OK - stuff like this never really works. I
wonder if we might be better off
doing the kind of moderation I always have - if it's rubbish I don't
read past a couple of sentences.
I just want to engage from time to time with people and ideas that
interest me or see reaction to my own.
Other people have trouble with what the consider foul language. I'm
rarely bothered - but there is a problem with SNERTS and clowns of
fervent religion. They are easy to spot and exclude. But the
moderation issues soon become inverted if we aren't careful and become
the toxic censorship themselves - often under the guise of middle
class manners.
I'm bored already and have seen Chaz and others excluded making me
wonder if I can stay. My old army buddies still greet each other in
language that almost burns eye-lids. I'd go minimalist on rules and
am more inclined to let people who don't like heat stay out of the
kitchen. Given class registers to fill in I let the class do them
(but wouldn't if I taught in loco parentis). My general view is there
is too much bureaucracy everywhere else.
