Re: Mind's Eye Wells

I Ching was fashionable once Allan.  No you can even get an app to contact the dead.  It's called Oculus Rift -   http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3054458/Could-Oculus-Rift-bring-people-dead-Virtual-reality-app-claims-reunite-users-deceased-loved-ones.html

The link in my head is probably that politics and management have a similar role to the Ching - a sort of bullshit database access thingy.  The Ching might help more.  Something seems to stop humans talking about what matters, but when we try we seem to end up in very strange territory around various candles that direct what can be said.  We need some rehabilitation from this and 'casting dice'.

What makes you equate it with politics? Over the years I  have only equate it with trying to live a beter life..

At my worst or best I think the edifice of education provides not much more Allan.  We might think about politics and management theories as "Chinese".

I don't do any of this stuff, though don't have much problem agreeing with Al here.  Not sure what Don means as I'm not good on getting drifts, though get a certain 'register'.  Chris has just said something on google plus that strikes me as similar Allan - though without the Chinese itching.  How does this latter work?  An old mate called Paddy once explained but I was drunk and into listening to old Kathleen Ferrier 78s at the time.

Yeah. Gotta have a little Ka-ching to survive in this world. A lot of Ka-ching is preferable. I'll take water over Ka-ching but definately take Ka-ching over spiritual nourishment. I can buy plenty of that with lots of Ka-ching. IfyouknowwhatImean.

THE WELL
Return to the well of goodness.

No community can survive without a dependable source of pure water. In a similar way, human beings cannot survive without a reliable source of spiritual nourishment. In fact, we need two wells: an external source of guidance, such as the I Ching, and an internal source of guidance, which must be our own good character. This hexagram comes to encourage you to concentrate on developing, purifying, and utilizing your two "wells."

Notice the name of this hexagram: "Ching/The Well." The I Ching has survived in countless civilizations for thousands of years for a simple reason: it is an inexhaustible source of spiritual nourishment. It provides us with the fundamental building blocks of a successful life. If you approach it sincerely, without mistrust or frivolity, it will guide you through every difficult hour with unimpeachable wisdom. If you muddy the well, however, by doubting the I Ching or by placing your ego desires above the counsel it gives you, you impede your own progress.

The purest of external wells, the I Ching is also an invaluable aid in developing and cleansing the internal well of your own good character. It will, if you are sincere, reveal to you the fundamental issues of your life, and it will instill in you the values necessary to successfully negotiate those issues.

The hexagram Ching comes to encourage you not to muddy the well of your good character in any way now. In relating to others, look beyond any external faults of "muddiness" and acknowledge the clear well that exists somewhere inside them. No person is without this, and by speaking to it you strengthen it. If you will follow these counsels, you will meet with a true and lasting success in life.

FIRST LINE
If you throw away proper principles, the well is muddied and no one can be nourished. Be patient with others and concentrate on correct behavior.
