Microsoft nightmare going on Allan.  One of the EU projects I still run has its laptop network updated to W8.1 Pro and everyone now has keyboards without spacebars, 'Bs' and sometimes nothing at all. Various fixes such as switching to Indian keyboard layouts has proved temporary.  I am only just emerging from the needed software purge.  I have a hard reset, but the southern Europeans refused this good sense and some are even claiming they have no data backups (it's all on a server here plus cloud).  I haven't found the fault, just ways to avoid it.  Have to say that it would be tempting to target minor enemies' spacebars.  Hey ho!
