I have a school friend (one of the "old" Anglo-Poles) who will be able to help with Ally's enquiry. She will do some checking-up and get back to me, but she confirms that the Polish "war poetry" is not the poetry of disillusion, but very much concerned with heroism and the restoration of Poland's freedom. This should make a very interesting set of contrasts for schoolchildren! I imagine that Barbara (my friend) would be happy to help with translation if necessary..
