Re: Mind's Eye Re: Why me ?

Some of the disconnect between parent and child is a "mixed message",
generational shifts in culture and peer pressure.

Now, about my tooth. :-) I am on the way to another gold crown after a
temp a couple of days ago. The good news- minus the price tag- is that
my dentist thinks I will be around long enough to get some mileage out
of this molar as it has to take over the grinding function of the
molar that was pulled last fall.

Back to topic- we may learn many lessons via our children versus our
parents. I had three sons and one daughter and the daughter opened a
whole new view of my life for me. She thought me ridiculous and
powerful, I suppose. We have a very good relationship after the bumpy
years of high school and college. But I was a "single" mother most of
the time and I do wonder what difference a father might have made as
my own father had a lasting impact even though he died when I was
eight. At that point, I should have hired a lawyer! :-) Anyway, my
neighbors are well adjusted couples and stressed with their teens so
it just may be a given.
