Well it's nearing the end of the 2011 year and I just wanted to let
you guys and gals know that I've enjoyed every bit of the time that
I've spent with ya'll. I hope you've enjoyed the meetups these past
two semesters and the summer in between. In fact, let's recap some of
the fun stuff that we have done.TL;

Ask An Atheist Day
Increased Membership
Partnered with the Philosphy and Religion Club to host a debate.
Volunteer work with the robot competition
Streamed the UNA God Debate live
Registered with the Secular Student Alliance
Launched the SauceForAll project
Student Organization Fairs
After-Meeting Gatherings
Summer Meetups - The one at The Grill had a great turn out
Movie Nights

Those are just a few things that I can remember off of the top of my
head. I'm certain there are more things we did that I don't remember,
honestly some of the things we did might be a contributing factor as
to why I don't remember them [ haha ], but I'm sure that they were fun
or else I probably wouldn't have participated.

A lot of these will return for the spring as well as a few new things.
Here's a list of stuff we can do this semester, feel free to add to it
any ideas you have.

Ask An Atheist Day
Increasing Membership- Always
Partner with other clubs for events
Volunteer work
Be aware of other groups [ via Sauce or other means ] and attend their
meet ups / events
After-meeting gatherings
Movie Nights
Stone-A-Heathen Day [ Finally, it'll be warm enough. ]
Yearly Officer Elections at the end of the Spring Semester***

***- Elections will be held at the end of the Spring Semester. We
missed last Spring's elections so we had them at the beginning of the
fall semester. The reason I mentioned this is because the group has
grown into a nice little organization since it was revived a year and
a half ago. All we did was raise awareness of the group and it became
what it is today. It took work, determination, focus, communication,
and building relationships to get it done, but we made it happen.
Cooperation from each of us is what made it successful and I am very
proud of each one of you for making FAAMSU what it is today. If you
haven't already, you should give yourself a pat on the back.

With that said, I'd like to make another little announcement:
The end of the spring semester is going to be my last semester as
President. I feel that the group has grown enough and that there are
enough people in regular attendance that the group has become self
sustaining. All it needs is a leader to make sure things run smoothly
and that all tasks are taken care of, or are delegated to someone who
can take care of them.

So this semester I'm going to be scouting for traits that I value in a
leader, and if I see something that I like, then I'm going to nominate
you at the end of April for the position. This doesn't mean that you
get the job, it just means that you have shown, to me at least,
characteristics that I feel will keep the group headed along a
successful path. Anyone is able to nominate people for the postion,
and if the nominees accept they just have to be voted in.

Pretty simple stuff! If you're already interested in any of the
positions, let me know and we can start getting you familiar with some
of the tasks associated with the job that you're interested in. It
wouldn't bother me a bit for you to shadow me or for you to want to
shadow someone else when they are doing FAAMSU related tasks. So
again, I'm not running for reelection at the end of the spring, and
I'd like to start getting someone ready to take the position as early
as I can so they can be ready. Let me know if you're interested,
either on here, through email, facebook, text, call, whatever. I'll be
around.

Also, have fun and be safe over the next few weeks, I'd like to see
you all next semester!

-Dees
