One aspect that would help strengthen the club would be if you all did
something to help the community.
One obvious possibility is to offer free tutoring services to the
student body. As someone who taught at MSU for 26 yrs, I can tell you
there are many many impoverished students who are struggling to get by
the hurdles of algebra, trigonometry, english comp, etc. While the
university does offer some tutoring services the tutors are often
swamped with too many students. I have seen students sitting in the
Learning Center on the periphery of a group unable to ask a question.
I don't know of any of our members who are not able to tutor in at least
one of these areas. It will be something important that you can point
to as "charity".
