Mind's Eye Re: comforting lie

It's all over the place when you think of it from advertising to
history/politics to social conventions, medicine, etc. There may be
some stigma in being a skeptic or realist. Then, think of the wasted
energy/time in propping up the lie. It is rather amazing.
