Re: Mind's Eye life-forms

I think on some level, we have the same views. The sufis say that ' people are in a dream state and when they die, they will wake up'. That view seems to be in line with your doubts about 'the reality' of human existence but at the end of the day, one needs to achieve a balance between the physical which is the realm of free will and struggle to achieve goals, and the spiritual which keeps the physical beast on check and allows for deeper yearnings and aspirations to also be fulfilled. As for the origin of the soul, according to Islam, some will say that it is a bit of the Divine and it will eventually return to its origin after death, whereas the 'self' or the aspect of personal existence responsible for making choices is the part of the human that will be subject to questioning, punishments and rewards. Others will not make that distinction.

Eman,,  the thought track was just looking at an idea, looking at nothing..

This group has got me looking at differently than I used to  but one of the ideas that has evolved is maybe just the opposite..

On looking at the concept of being reborn ...  I do believe there is a spiritual world  and I can  not help but wonder if our real "normal " Life a realm that we actually spend most of eternity in is the spiritual realm..   Both Islam and christianity  place great emphasis on life after death or re;birth.

There are a great deal of things that never made sense to me,,  and questions like what is the origin of the soul  maybe it is no longer the origin  but rather where was the soul before this life  .. . .   This leaves me wondering if our soul being part of an on going spiritual life is not our true Life and  this (world) physical life is  a  lifer where we are trying to demonstrate our knowledge of the laws of the universe  and how to apply them.

Then when we die (return to our spiritual life) we examine our physical lives and give account of our actions..  (all of them) memories)

As I look at this idea it would almost seem we are in a zombie state compared to the spiritual life we normally in.  I think i jacked my jaws about this a while back it is churning around in what little brain I have left,

Thank you Allan for your welcome. When it comes to hard evidence, you're right, everything exists only in our heads and it could all be an illusion or a virtual reality of some sort but we've come to accept what we sense as a reality existing outside of us. I wonder how we made that leap or whether we're programmed to be trusting of our senses to that exent since basing our actions on the senses  leads to gratification or escaping pain.

Welcome Eman I hope I have the name right,

I am tending to agree with you, there are to many incidents and wide spread similarities.

But as I am writing this that maybe I (we)  are all including this world are a figment of RP's very furtile brain and when he dies and this very creativeness ceases to exist the total universe would cease to exist ---- now on the bright side if this is true all of the poverty,  hunger, will be gone. All the killing going on in the name of power will end..

Hmmm
Beyond  my comprehension or imagitive ability,  but if it is true, I as part of your collective imagination demand you put an end to it now!!!!
Imaginary Allan
Or is that worst nightmare Allan,  are you having difficulty deciding go to tore local hospital and purchase that excessively  costlt treatment,  doesn't matter as everything  ceases to exist
Then again
Allan

(What do you expect a 5 in the morning with a storm raging (now cut out this storm si I can go to sleep,,--- whoever you are)
